Since time is a construct, a human perception of the sequence of events in the material universe, it is only relevant to the material world. One cannot measure, or see sequence in something that is not material.

I tend to describe the interrelationship of matter (and time) with spirit in this way; matter is differentiated from spirit, and in a way that does not involve time for spirit, but does for matter.

The closer scientists get to the Big bang, the more they seem to identify a bundle of forces that precede matter. This implies that order precedes matter, and gives us an analogy for the idea of God.

God would then be both matter and the factor that orders its unfolding in time. The idea that humans are, could be, separate from God
